Why Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated Left Me Wanting MORE?
I finally sat down to play SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, and it's time to be real—this game gave me mixed feelings. As a huge fan of the original, I went in with high hopes, but not everything lived up to the legacy. While the updated visuals are charming and the nostalgia definitely hit, certain levels like Kelp Forest and Goo Lagoon just didn’t land for me. Whether it was the level design or the pacing, something felt off, and I found myself more frustrated than entertained at times.
That said, I can’t lie—I still had fun overall. There’s a lot to love in Rehydrated, especially if you’re looking to relive some childhood memories. The core platforming is still solid, the voice acting holds up, and there’s a goofy charm that remains intact. But when compared to the original, this remake just doesn’t quite reach the same sponge-tastic heights. Check out the full video for my honest breakdown of what worked, what didn’t, and why the OG still holds the crown in my heart. 🧽🎮
