Why It's Good Nikolas Cruz, Parkland Shooter, Was Saved From The Death Penalty
1Hi guys. This is TheologyMatters.
First off, two things: I condone the actions of Nikolas Cruz vehemently and I am sorry for the loss the families have experience because of this tragedy.
However, Nikolas Cruz was correct to be saved from the death penalty. In this video, I tackle a few reasons why I, and you, should be against the death penalty, based on my secular reasons and the wisdom of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Reasons:
1. He will live a saddened life compared to your life of freedom.
2. You consist of the State, which ends the life of the prisoner.
3. He can be contained and doesn't impact other's lives after containment. Thus, he is no longer a threat and protected by CCC 2227.
4. He can changed or become redeemed like us all.
Next, to my "red" brethren, pro-life includes being against the death penalty because every life, no matter how big or small, matters. I'm probably going against many people in a sector with this, but someone needs to say this.
To end, I have to believe he can be redeemed however long that will be.
