Why Jeff Wadlow’s X-Force Movie Didn’t Happen
287Collider’s Christina Radish recently sat down with Jeff Wadlow, director of the upcoming ‘Truth or Dare’ movie, to talk about the work he’d done on X-Force. X-Force has been in development for a few years at Fox and although Drew Goddard is currently attached to write and direct it, Wadlow had done some work on the project early on in the process. Wadlow was signed in 2013 to write the film, but even though the studio liked his take on the project they eventually decided to go with Deadpool first over X-Force. His approach to the script was to write a movie for the mutants that went to “public school” and not the “private school” of Professor X. He also worked on a ‘Masters of the Universe’ reboot in 2014 and his take was more of the irrevery sci-fi vibe of ‘Guardians of Galaxy’. That project is still languishing in developmental hell while Wadlow’s ‘Truth or Dare’ opens later this month.

They discuss if these studios made the right decisions to not go with Wadlow’s takes at the time or if Wadlow was just slightly ahead of his time with his approach to them.
