Batgirl Movie Is Moving Forward, Now with Bumblebee Screenwriter
311THR is reporting that two months after Joss Whedon exited the ‘Batgirl’ project, the film is back in motion at Warner Bros. Christina Hodson who recently wrote the Transformers spinoff ‘Bumblebee’ will be writing the script for the film. She was also involved in the development of the feature project ‘Birds of Prey’ which featured Barbara Gordon aka Batgirl so she’s well aware of the character. This is an interesting move for the studio as it immediately raises questions again about whether Whedon was actually ever really involved in the Batgirl film or was it just a smoke screen to get him under the WB umbrella, so he could eventually replace Zack Snyder on ‘Justice League’.
