In an interview with /film, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods revealed that early on in their writing of ‘A Quiet Place’ they considered pitching the movie as being a part of the Cloverfield universe. They revealed that ‘10 Cloverfield Lane’ had been at Paramount when they were writing the film, but when they finally brought the final product to the studio, the studio felt that the film should be its own universe. Beck and Woods also revealed that they were worried about how they would have to change and adjust the film to fit it into the Cloverfield universe. It’s a rare thing when a studio does NOT want to make a film fit into an existing franchise. This is even more incredible considering that ‘10 Cloverfield Lane’ and ‘Cloverfield Paradox’ were originally scripts that were not in the Cloverfield universe and were adjusted to fit into it.

John Rocha and Mark Reilly sit down and give you their reactions to this news. They let you know if they think that Paramount made the right decision to not make the film part of the Cloverfield universe. They also speculate on how the film would have had to be adjusted to fit into it and if this decision by Paramount indicates that the new regime is starting to make better decisions to save the studio. Let us know what you think about this news and about what Reilly and Rocha had to say about it in the Comments section below.
