Wii Metroid Prime: Trilogy G35, 1st Campaign pt28 2/2: 1st Elite Pirate fight & Power Bomb acquired!
I continued to go deeper into the Phazon Mines. Turnes out the complex is made of several levels. I finally saw evidence of the dreaded Elites the Space Pirates talked about so much. Vid timeline:
(0:00) Ore Processing part 2 of 2.
I realized my mistake of not paying attention to the holographic representation of the puzzle, which greatly aided in managing it.
Also, I realized what the deal is regarding the colored Pirates. One must use the appropriate weapon to match the color of enemies. Since the is the case, if I face red Pirates, I won't be able to take them out as I don't have the fire weapon yet.
(10:43) Elevator Access A and Elevator A.
(16:49) Elite Control Access and Elite Control.
First fight against an Elite Pirate. This giant just burst out of it's containment pod once I entered the room. Luckily, I was able to exploit it's slow speed by hiding behind the pod, and perform pop-up attacks with Super Missiles. Still, he could attack me with what look like an electrical ground pound attack.
Now I have some intelligence on how to deal with them, because I have a feeling the next battle is going to be in the open.
(43:02) Ventilation Shaft and Omega Research.
For a second there, I thought the doors locked up and I was required to solve a puzzle of sorts when the gas started to come out. But I was able to just go to the next room.
Purple or Wave and Yellow or Power Pirates attacked me here. But by now, I got used to how to handle them. In the case of the later, charge shots are best to to it's paralyzing effect. For the latter, go for Super Missiles.
Haven't found a practical use for the Wave Beam's alternate Wave Buster mode yet however.
(51:12) Dynamo Access and Dynamo.
Cloaked Drones make their debut here. However the acquisition of the Power Bomb didn't required the elimination of a Boss. But rather, the solving of a puzzle.
That said, on my way out, I expect something big. There are 3 Elites of the Omega class in stasis over at another room I think they are going to come alive now.
But now that I have these Bombs, once again the time has come to back track. This time, in areas that where previously inaccessible due to Benizium obstructions.
These Bombs, like the Missiles, come in limited numbers. So I have to use them wisely.
