Wii Metroid Prime: Trilogy G47, 1st Campaign pt39: Phendrana Drifts' two remaining Chozo Artifacts.
As it turned out, there where not one, but two Artifacts left. It looked like I made the right call by getting those on Phendrana Drifts. It was later that I realized, the clue about the tower, refered to the one located at Control Tower. Vid timeline:
(0:00) Intro: Setting course.
(2:00) En route to Phendrana's Edge.
(5:28) Can't find Power up..
Still unaware that what I was listening was infact, a third Artifact, I once again attempted to get what I thought was another Missile Expansion.
(16:04) Continue to Artifacts.
(29:37) Back at Phendrana's Edge.
(39:23) Closing in on Artifact of Spirit.
It turned out that the Door obscured by terrain was not at the very top as I was lead to believe. But it was high enough.
(43:48) Going to third Artifact at Control Tower.
(51:02) Back at Control Tower: Firing Super Missiles.
I begin to do all kinds of things. Given that the clue for acquiring this particular Artifact was to collapse a tower, I began to direct lly shoot at it. No effect.
(54:50) Possible tower weak spot?
Via the use of the Thermal Visor, I spotted an object on one of the towers that illuminated. Thinking it was a weak spot, I tried to get a clear shot. But force fields where in the way.
(57:08) Power Bombs and a Super Missile had no effect.
This is the part that threw me off. It turned out, that was the correct window I need to break, in order to gain a direct line of site to the suspicious stop I found on one of the towers earlier. So, why didn't the window break when I hit it on that occasion?
(1:08:31) Thermal Visor picks up more.
Said Visor revealed cables on the ground that I thought could lead to something. One of the 2 Bomb Boxes glowed. But curiously, not the one next to the window in question. I headed to the second to destroy it again.
(1:12:46) It worked this time! But why?
Careful examination of my actions revealed that I happened to have the right weapon that time out. What I previously thought was glass, turned out to be a sheet of ice. And so, the obstruction could only be removed by the Plasma Beam. Had I destroyed those boxes inside with any other weapon, I would had never figured things out.
Removing the obstruction provided me with Aa direct line of site to the weak spot found earlier. And that's what it turned out to be. Blowing it with a single Super Missile caused the tower to collapse, creating a passage that finally enabled me to acquire the Artifact of Elder.
