Ein kleiner Einblick in die Closed Alpha von Wild West Online.
All zu viel kann man noch nicht machen, denn dies ist eine "wirkliche" Alpha und nicht solch eine, wie wir sie vllt. von anderen Spiele-Herstellern kennen, die bereits ein fast fertiges Spiel als Alpha rausbringen.

Wild West Online statement:

"Other game devs sometimes use "Alpha Early Access" to publicly release a full-featured product (that still has many bugs and needs more time needed to reach stability). We are instead using the term 'Alpha' in a more traditional way - this is a rough version of what the game will be, but it's not a fully scoped game. We're giving you as a founding member of our community a glimpse at what the game will be, as well a chance to directly influence our development process by giving feedback in response to a true game Alpha. We want to hear your feedback and work with our community to build a game that can be enjoyed for many years to come.
The goal of this initial Technical Alpha Test 1 is to ensure the stability of our server infrastructure, test that game systems are working as intended, and gather community feedback. We're not making all of the content that we have created, nor all of the game features currently designed, available during this test. We want to ensure that early tests are concentrated on the core mechanics we most need tested.
During the Closed Alpha timeframe of several weeks, founding members of our community who have pre-ordered game will be able to experience “Gold Rush” style of gameplay. In this release, most activities focusing on finding gold, mining it off streams and gold rock deposits, grouping up with other players, setting mining camps and trying to get your hard earned gold to towns where you can sell it for in game money. You can upgrade their weapons, tools and unlock new cosmetics, but beware of outlaws – players who have chosen to play as bandits who ambush, kill and steal gold from hard working prospectors. You can also embark on exploration gameplay, looking for treasure loot chests, and finding rare medical plants that can be used to craft medical potions.
Please keep in mind that this is a slice of the game, and not yet a full-featured experience. We have designed the Alpha tests in a way that will help us identify potential issues with game code and test functionality of individual game play modules, rather than as a full game preview where player and developer alike may be overwhelmed by the scope and miss core issues.
Because of this specific testing goal, your experience during the Alpha will be vastly different from that of players who will play the final version of the game. We must also remind you that progress you make with your characters during Closed Alpha will be wiped (you will not lose rewards associated with your purchased package, but the things you buy with them will be wiped and you will need to re-apply those rewards redemptions after each wipe)."
