Full disclosure, I LOVE designing with ai tools like Midjourney, it is an amazing tool. But I am also an actual artist in many fields : Drawing, painting, photography, videography, photo manipulation, graphic designing & Writing.
An artist knows how to turn anything into art, including Ai art tools.
That being said, Ai tools are no longer just limited to art, they can also chat with you, write entire stories for you & now with the launch of Chat GPT4, you can use it to create entire prompts for you. WOW is that amazing or what? It does ALL the work for you, can you believe it? This is so amazing! WOW! Can you read the sarcasm that is soaking my statement? LOL
So let's get this straight, people have no imagination so they use an ai chat-bot to create their prompts to copy paste into Midjourney V5...lol this is literally NOTHING! Sure you will get a "Cool looking piece of Art" but that is all, there is ZERO 0 connection between you & the final product. It's the equivalent of searching google images or strangely Bing.
I'm telling you REAL ARTISTS, you have NOTHING to fear from this. Most people that use Ai tools to create end up canceling their services because they go bored, they ran out of "Imagination" to come up with ideas. Non artistic people do not have the scope of imagination we real artists have. I mean I came up with the prompt "A Dirty Slimy Cat That Is Made Out Of Garbage" a non artist would have thought "A dirty cat" & then marveled at the nothing they created lol.
The other thing, I don't call myself an Ai Artist, I call myself an Ai-Designer. I write the STORY of my piece & then Midjourney does the rest, I work WITH it. People need to understand their role. If you use your OWN art, then you are doing an artistic collaboration. But at the same time, writing is an artform as well, which is something I am good at & I incorporate in ALL my work.
Non Artists do not generally know anything about composition, lighting, colors, emotion, symbolism, angles...all these things & then some. Which is why all they will ever create are static pictures of characters standing there, looking cool.
What they create is the art you see in corporate offices or at the dentist. They compose the music you hear in the elevator or waiting rooms.
But boredom & price will be what drives people away from ai art tool. I see hundreds of people weekly asking to cancel their services because they have no more interest or it's too expensive. Midjourney costs 45$ Canadian per month & you only get 15 hours of Fast Time & that stuff does not last long. Most non artists don't have the patience to use their relax time because they NEED their fix NOW & not in 1-5 minutes that it can take for an amazing piece of art that would take a real artist weeks to create.
These are the major reason why Real Artists have nothing to worry about.
