Will it still fly ? #1 The HobbyKing Mini DLG
I haven't flown this in a year or two. I was at a meet and had a good chuck straight up. Somehow the canopy flew off and took the lipo with it. It's pretty light so I expected it to come down gently, but it came straight down nose in at great speed and broke the plastic canopy bottom, the balsa structure and cracked the cabon fibre rod.
I patched it up, but have never got around to trying it... I thought I might need to replace the carbon properly.
Went ok I thought - ok, I know I don't do DLG flying correctly. I should be throwing straight up and looking for thermals. But this is how I like to fly these - throw outwards and fly it back to me :)
It did struggle in this strong wind though - which is why I didn't go for any of the full on 360 discuss throws.
There's a bunch of other models in this category to retest... but basically I'm working my way up to my two nemesis planes: the Skywalker Mini and the Buffalo FX-79 wing
