William Davis discusses his book "Super Gut: A Four-Week Plan to Reprogram Your Microbiome, Restore Health, and Lose Weight", a plan to reprogram your microbiome based on research and techniques that not only gets to the root of many diseases but improves levels of oxytocin (the bonding/happy hormone), brain health and promotes anti-aging and weight loss.

Over the past 50-100 years, industrialized agriculture and food, overexposure to antibiotics, as well as chemicals in our diet and environment, has dramatically altered the human microbiome, turning it into something that is almost no longer human. These disruptive changes pose silent dangers for health, increasingly ignored by a quick-fix society eager to buy into dietary fads but unaware of the turmoil within. The answer to our gut and overall health problems isn’t found in the latest version of a ketogenic diet or some new “superfood,’ reveals Dr. Davis. Instead, we desperately need to reintroduce our bodies to the microbial species that once lived in our ancestors, while pushing back the army of microbial interlopers that have taken their place.

Dr. William Davis, M.D. is a preventive cardiologist and author of the groundbreaking #1 New York Times bestseller "Wheat Belly" and three other New York Times bestsellers: "Wheat Belly Cookbook", "Wheat Belly 30- Minutes (or Less!) Cookbook", and "Wheat Belly Total Health", among other titles. He is a graduate of the St. Louis University School of Medicine, with training in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease, and advanced training in angioplasty at the Case Western Reserve University Hospitals where he also served as Director of the Cardiovascular Fellowship and Assistant Professor of Medicine.
