The Windows 8.1 Mail Client continues to improve, but there's one feature that isn't available yet. And it's irritating to say the least.

I, along with everyone else, love the autocomplete function in all the Windows mail programs. The software stores all your recent email address whether or not they are in your contacts. That way, when you are ready to send that next email. All you have to do is type the first few characters of the email address and it appears in the dropdown along with other email addresses that match that pattern.

But what if that lists contains outdated or entered in error email addresses? Then it gets to be an irritating feature instead of functional.

As demonstrated in this video, even the Outlook.com client lets you delete individual addresses by giving you an 'x' to delete that email address from the autocomplete list.

Not so in the current Windows 8.1 Client. But you don't have to follow some of the recommendations that delete your entire autocomplete list. Nor do you have to edit your registry.

Just follow this simple step to delete that one entry and keep all the rest intact. It only takes a few seconds.

Hopefully in the next release of the Windows 8 mail client, they will but the 'x' in the dropdown, but until then, this should work for you.
