Sometimes you want to shutdown and keep all the programs you are running active. You don't want to lose where you were at and have to open each program or save each open document.

Used to be you could just hibernate your system. But if you go to the power button in Windows, there's no hibernate option available.

Here's a quick 2 minute tutorial to add hibernate to the Power Button menu.

Follow these instructions for Windows 10 as well. If you go to the Control Panel, the same options are there.
