This is the game your lady tells you not to worry about that she's going to play alone at night on a Saturday Night at 2AM and the game your man thinks about in bed when he should be snuggling with you. Instead they're both thinking about Ralgha nas Hhallas aka, Hobbes and who can blame them?! Not me! I love space Tigers and Hobbes is adorable and awesome and everything that is good!
But this game back in the day proved that you could have compelling story and big name actors with FMV sequences, creating something truly magnificent. Perhaps only overshadowed in full by it's sequel Wing Commander IV: The Price of Freedom. You have Malcolm McDowell, John Rhys Davis, Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill and many more! None the least being Ginger Lynn Allen who at the time was the most awardwinning actress of them all.
You can get this game of GOG of course and I can tell you that it's a hell a lot easier to play on PC than it is on console but I do admire when they can make a pc game work on console. Not like how they do it in modern day but how they did it in the olden days. There were two ways: One way was to either make a different version of the game entirely which net us two games and the other way was this way where they got around the limitations of a controller with inginuity. Although it can be a bit clunky to get used to.
This specific gameplay was recorded using the highest settings in Duckstation to fully bring out the potential of the PS1 which is how I'm recording PS1 games since.. I think a year back. Just so you know. A native PS1 wouldn't look this pretty though it would still be enjoyable! I also cut out a large chunk during the practice mission because I couldn't figure out how to auto-pilot. I had to look it up between cutscenes.
