When Wizard With a Gun was revealed, I was captivated by everything the game had shown so far- the artstyle, the concept, as well as the trailer and some of the gameplay it showed for a limited time. The music ALONE in the trailer and during the demo gameplay SLAPPED like a horse kick to the face.

So I'mma say for at least the first hour of gameplay- it ain't fast, but it really makes things challenging with how the gameplay is handled- you have a randomly generated world that's on a timer- you have to finish your required quests before time runs out, then otherwise you'll be facing the game's enemies- the Chaos, which are plasma-looking entities that are hostile. And in an unstoppable wave, no less- which leads to your escape or your death.
Your homebase and your only escape point is a place called The Tower- where you can recover, use your resources to upgrade your base and weapons, and much more.
To summarize: You can take your time when out in the overworld to collect resources and/or do your quests, but speed is also the name of the game before almost everything else. You escape to the Tower or die trying to either the hostile enemies or the Chaos Forces.
My Take: Honestly? This was AWESOME. It's a fun game that doesn't drag its feet on too many mechanics to make the game look challenging or complicated- it gives the right amount of challenge off and provides the player with a seemingly complex system when in reality, it's fun and simple.
