Well that was pretty bad... Not outright garbage but still pretty bad. How are we 6 years into VR and still getting games that don't have a proper mirror window?!?

The controls aren't going to be comfortable for most. They even made me feel a bit nauseous. Snap turning might be better as well as the option to use the vignette but that bothers me more than sim sickness.

Outside of low comfort aspect most of the controls were fairly intuitive and I actually liked how they felt. Angling the right stick forward or back to go up/down. I do wish they'd decoupled turn from aim though. That just added unnecessary motion to a fight. Especially when there was nothing on the right stick preventing it.

The core gameplay was simple but ok. Nothing majorly bad here except the overwhelming ease of combat. I never felt in danger. I never felt like I could fail unless I explicitly and intentionally did something stupid. This left combat feeling lackluster and unengaging. Point and click until the thing dies. Rinse, repeat. You will see this much more in parts 3 and 4.

While as a drone I felt I spent far too much time looking for a hole to stick my hacker probe into. The difficulty wasn't in the stealth aspect or a complex hacking system. The difficult was in finding the thing to hack! FYI, that's not all that fun.

The whole, in between missions, stuff... That could have just not been there. It helped push the story along but it was meh all around.

Speaking of meh all around, those first interactions with your headvoice were pretty painful. It was obvious what she wanted and even though you're 3 steps ahead of her she still insists on an unnatural scripted dialog.

The voice acting itself wasn't bad, it was pretty good actually, the interaction and the pacing of it is where it got frustrating.

At least the game is only 2 hours long.... Wait what?!? Yup, 2 hours to run through the game start to finish and watch the 10 minute credit roll after the final scene. That's with spending several extended periods not knowing where my hacker hole was and wasting considerable time searching for it.

So, would I be happy with Wolfenstein Cyberpilot if I'd paid 19.99 for it? Hello no. It's not the worst game ever. In fact, the idea has a lot of potential in the hands of someone who knows VR and how to design VR games. It's a string of bad design choices leave us with something that's mediocre at best and likely nauseating for most. I'll throw my vote in with all the others and unfortunately drop a disappointed thumbs down.
