Great game. Good blend of story and action. More arcadey and over the top than I expected. The infinite ammo for your default weapon for example. I did like how there were multiple paths to solving a problem as well as seemingly meaningless trinkets like the bracelet (though there may have been a use for it that I missed.)

Graphically, I've been spoiled by the Index. This is my first non-Index game since starting to use it and there was a noticeable decline in picture quality. The game itself looked great though. I loved the textures on my skin while drugged. I have no complaints about the games visuals.

Most of the voice acting was also very well done. Naveen fell a little flat for me though. He was the only one who didn't seem to pull off the role. Everyone else was far better than I expected. It really helped to sell the immersion. I hope we see more of this in the future.
The audio overall was that perfect blend of adding to the scene but not overpowering it.

The controls are the black mark here.

Most of the options had a lot of variety. I love to see tons of options. Movement, for who knows why, was the option they skimped on. Orienting to the play space, IMO, is NEVER an acceptable or desirable locomotion option. Head orientation or hand orientation. Ok, never is a bit too strong as games like Blackwake could make a case for it but in those you're not locomoting the same way... Definitely never in a game like Defector. Even for a front facing, non-360 deg setup it still doesn't make sense to me. It's just bad and I hate it. Thankfully there was head look as an option though I would have strongly preferred a hand orientation option.

There were a few physics issues that I would expect a fully released game to have addressed. Namely, kicking weapons into oblivion when trying to grab them and the magazines vanishing if they're dropped. Also, why do guns vanish at all? That seems unnecessary.

Overall, a great action flick simulator and at $19.99, should be in every Oculus owners library.
