Working Haunted House Ride - Wizard101 House Coding Project
23In the online MMO Wizard101, players can have their own houses and customize them with furniture. You can also create what is known as "castle magic," which is essentially a simple coding language allowing for loops and different mechanics to change your house. In the following video, I demonstrate a house I made which is a Haunted Fairgrounds, decorated with hand-placed objects.
The star attraction is the inside of the house: it's a ride! After pulling a lever, you are taken in a cart away on a haunted mansion ride complete with spooky ghosts and creatures to scare you! This was all done by coding sequences and spawning entities, and is made up of thousands of lines of invisible code. This was an exercise in level design and timing events.
