For those of you getting into this boss battle, it is VERY easy to get knocked out. Even a shield won't stop you from dying, even with 100% Physical Damage reduction. The reason it won't, is because when the Dragon God puts his fist through the wall, you literally can't stop his fist from knocking you off your feet. Even worse, he has two arms to be a dink to you with. That means one arm can knock you down, while the other arm knocks you out.

This was probably one of the more frustrating boss fights in Demon's Souls. It basically turned into a full game of Red Light / Green Light. Oh wait, it literally is a game of RLGL.

Anyway, strategy? Stand behind pillars and snipe the crumbled remains of pillars with the flame toss. Four will knock the pillar out.

The other strategy? Regardless of your STR stat, if you have Pure White world tendency, you can veer left at the beginning and get a Dragon Bone Smasher sword, which will one-shot those crumbled pillars.

Lastly, don't get too close to the thing's mouth. He will be able to kill you by just breathing on you.
