Dungeons and Dragons executive producer Kyle Brink is back over at the D&D Beyond's site with the proposed language for the OGL 1.2 and the language for this draft is even worse than we thought. They want to censor and control anything that is published under their license, with an irrevocable right to cancel you based on content or conduct they deem "harmful", and you sign away your legal right to sue or take legal action.

What. The. Frak. While they may have taken out the greedier portions of the contract, they are sticking with their guns when it comes to their "need' to get rid of the 1.0a because it permits "harmful, discriminatory, or illegal content."

In Kyle's own words: "One key reason why we have to deauthorize: We can't use the protective options in 1.2 if someone can just choose to publish harmful, discriminatory, or illegal content under 1.0a. And again, any content you have already published under OGL 1.0a will still always be licensed under OGL 1.0a."

hahahahahahah. Oh, Kyle. So now, the main reason you need to get rid of the OGL 1.0a is because the only way you can "protect" people is with a stricter, more controlling OGL that gives you ALL the power to dictate what is or isn't harmful/discriminatory/illegal, with no legal recourse for those who sign away their rights?

How about NO.
