[WR] Geometry Dash Doom Gauntlet in 6:33.47
0I was originally going to do Magic Gauntlet next but OBS does not seem to like that gauntlet: I got a WR run 3 times for that gauntlet and each time OBS failed to record correctly. I'm gonna keep trying but it's demotivating each time it fails and I have no way to control it.
I did this gauntlet instead just cause I wanted a break from Magic and somehow it didn't screw up the recording. I have a feeling it is time related. My magic gauntlet sessions were like 30+ minutes and this did take 1 hour at first but i stopped the recording, restarted, and was able to get this run in only 10 or so minutes in the 2nd recording. It turned out fine so maybe I'm just gonna have to moderate the time of my recording sessions until the bug gets fixed.
Anyways the run itself: This is probably the 2nd hardest GD speedrun category to finish a run of (only beaten by All Map Packs due to its sheer length). 5 pretty decently hard demon levels with each being about on par with or harder than any levels in other Gauntlets.
This run was also done on 300FPS instead of 360FPS because Darkness Keeper is bugged on that framerate. The black hole actually has hitboxes and will slowly inch toward the player and make it impossible to survive (unless you are a TAS and skip the robot portal, then it's doable on 360FPS)
Regardless the run only really comes down to menuing as the skips that exist in Extinction, Buried Angel, and Shrill Hallway are far too inconsistent for a human to seriously attempt (and the timesave is pretty minuscule except for Shrill Hallway but seriously no one can spam fast enough to do the skips in that level consistently)
This run isn't perfect when it comes to menuing either but it's a decent improvement over the last one. It's probably possible to get a .1x run but I don't see it going lower without 360FPS or a skip (if I had to pinpoint a humanly doable one it's either the one in Buried Angel or the first one in Shrill Hallway but both are super hard for different reasons)
