In the video I forgot to mention - AA is turned of as well as motion blur. Everything else is on.

WRC 3 came out in 2012. It has a good cockpit view, the physics are good and intuitive and it and averages 45 - 50 FPS on our super-budget rig when not recording. In this case a Core2 Quad or early i3 with this GPU would put us in solid 60fps territory for gameplay and also much smoother video capture... but as far as just playing the game the experience with the 2-core E8400 is good.

The PC used: HP 6000 Pro SFF desktop (from 2009)
(Windows 7 64-bit)
Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3.0 GHz (stock)
4 GB DDR3 Ram @ 1333 MHz
Kingston 480 GB SSD
WD 250 GB HDD (the original one)
ASUS GT 710 1GD5 silent
(downclocked from 954 to 904 MHz)*

*This is a small fanless video card with a Kepler-based GPU. It is not meant to be used for gaming but rather as a 0 decibel upgrade for a home theater or office PC. When pushed in games to 100% usage at its default clock speed of 954 MHz it can hit the 90-95 degrees C range. By downclocking to 904 MHz (only about 5% - not that much) the maximum temperature hit by the GPU is about 80 degrees C. I have had this card for almost 2 years and it works as good now as the day I bought it. I would suggest the Gigabyte GT 710 DDR5 with a fan if you want a version of this GPU that can be pushed a little harder - and it's one of the least expensive (about $35 US at the beginning of 2021) cards you can get.

Remember to always get the DDR5 version of this GPU and NOT the DDR3 version. The DDR5 version will be a useful improvement over integrated graphics in any desktop equipped with a Core 2 Duo or Quad (2006) all the way up to a 4th gen i3 or even i5 (2014). The DDR3 version can barely manage 2/3 the performance and many games will remain unplayable where the DDR5 version will offer up a steady and acceptable framerate at the same graphics settings.

Thanks for watching!
