X-Challenge Stage 9 Hard (Megaman X Legacy Collection Vol. 1)
3It's done! A bit late to the party (Until a week ago I wasn't even going to bother with this), but after a month+ being out, I am the 19th person to get this done on hard.
Honestly, Stage 9 overall took less time than Stage 2 or Stage 6.
First fight, I said it in another video but if Rainy Turtloid jumps first, do a slight dash forward at the right time and quickly move back to the wall to goad him into moving to the other side of the screen instead of jumping straight up. Get a couple Charged Ice shots on Spark Mandrill so he dies faster. Just a couple though or you will run out of ammo.
Second fight demands quick reflexes. Try to stay on the ground until Metal Shark Player makes his next move, as you won’t be able to dodge if he chooses to jump and you’re already in the air/on the wall. Utilize low level charge shots on him for a quicker kill. His iFrames do not last long so this greatly out damages waiting for fully charged Buster Shots. Storm Eagle is a free kill once he’s alone.
Third fight, learn the safe spots. It’s very important to know you can jump and hover over the beam and Double’s jumping. You may notice I sometimes throw away fully charged shots against the wall. I do this to instead try to get a low charged shot and avoid hitting Iris. The piercing effect of the fully charged shot and the lingering Plasma effect can very easily get you killed in this fight. Too many hits and Iris summons her crystal, not to mention she’ll summon robots too. If the crystal is out and Double is still alive this fight gets much, much harder.
I had no idea how to fight X and Zero, and unfortunately I'm not going to bother learning how. They can't be challenged individually or in practice mode, the only way to keep attempting them is to beat all of Stage 9 every time you want to try them out. I'm not wasting 15+ minutes (assuming I don't mess up and have to start all over before hand) just to practice and get killed so quickly.
