Going through one of my hard drives last night and I found a bunch of old video files I downloaded for the X-Men film waaay back in 2000 off the movie's official website. They include brief character and director profiles, as well as teaser and two versions of the trailer.

Sadly, for us old geezers, it does not feature the super choppy footage of Wolverine swinging around the Statue of Liberty that was in an another version of the trailer out around the time. Though, the trailers do feature music from Trevor Jones' 'Dark City' score.

For those who maybe aren't old enough or simply don't remember, this was part of the original trilogy of Marvel films (Blade, X-Men, Spider-Man) that each did far better than anyone expected and would go on to change the standard for how future comic book adaptations would be. Other than a few throwaway lines about toads getting struck by lightning or going out wearing spandex, the movie would usher in a "realistic" superhero sincerity not previously seen on film.

Note that these clips were fairly low resolution (but rather advanced for the time), running in Quicktime Movie format... a format so old that current-era Quicktime would not even recognize the codecs and could not play them. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, I was able to convert them and resize them for 720p... although, the videos don't look any sharper being stretched out. I have no idea if these are still out there anywhere or if others have uploaded them. Just thought it would be cool to put them on Youtube.
