BIOGRAPHY

If there is any competitor who can terrify out of presence alone, Katerina Boyarovna fits the bill like skin. So notorious that even Mark IV and Andrew only spar with her when absolutely necessary, the blonde’s militant posturing and immodest mentions of her wealth and prestige make Céleste’s tantrums look like impotent burbling. Nevertheless, with her equally professional form on her Kyokkou, the rampant bets that she would be the 2080 champion were hardly out of coercion.

As her surname indicates, Katerina’s family is the easiest explanation to uncover as to why she acts as she does. However, even that comes with contingents. The daughter of two aristocratic activists who made a career of being thorns in the United Party’s paws, their calling in life put them at unsurprising odds with their relatives. Though Katerina was only nine when she first noticed the depth of their loathing, it would take a decade more for her to finally understand why Anatoly was a “Navalnyite traitor” and Nadezhda the “Boyarovich Trotsky”. Little did she know that, quite soon, she would mature into a “Polina Morozova”.

In contrast to the ardent pacifism and orthodox rebelliousness of her parents, Katerina found herself enraptured by the battlefield recollections of her commander uncle. Though an imperceptible iota of guilt flared whenever he recalled his Antarctic Campaign, he never mustered the fortitude to confess to the war crimes that “adventure” truly was. Regardless of any chance he had of also subscribing to their perspectives, Artyom was as irritated by his sister and son-in-law’s dissonant dissidence as his other family members.

The young pioneer, despite the revolt being seventeen years her senior, took unique fascination in the militant elegance her uncle exuded. Though she knew that she should have regarded Anatoly and Nadezhda as morally superior, Artyom's charismatic brutishness made little question of where her loyalties were. Undoubtedly, it further oiled Katerina’s decision to consider him a de facto parent, its status swiftly cemented. After all, what else pushed her to toothily lie to the ICRF that her lodestars wanted to repeat the Brunaupphlaup Bombings, first-class tickets to Stockton’s resorts already reserved for them?

Of course, stratospheric highs often coincide with catastrophic hangovers. For Katerina, ennui is a demon that constantly antagonizes, jonesing for the next adrenaline spike harder than if it were krokodil. Fetishizing the military and participating in the amateur hyperbike circuit, potent as they were, was just a palliative medicine. Dominating the XGRA, in contrast, offered everything Katerina desired and more. The jackpot was immaterial, as would be for any Boyarovich. The rabid competitiveness and ecstatic sadism inherent to her character, in contrast, was what Katerina always sought... and why so many were as terrified of the teams she affiliated with as they were of the lady herself.
