xCloud vs PS Plus Cloud - Fidelity & Network Usage & Power Consumption


- For this test both consoles were connected to the same switch
- Network: Unifi USW 8P - Unifi Dream Machine SE - ISP
- 1Gb/s connection with a 6-7ms latency. Country: The Netherlands
- Note that network bandwidth usage have an interval at around 5 seconds, atm I can only monitor WAN-port real-time - still figuring this one out for client ports.
- Even though the 5 seconds interval for network usage will miss data, from DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) I see around 30% more traffic on PS Cloud than xCloud for the same amount of gameplay time during this run (7.43GB vs 5.25GB per hour). Curious to see how much variation there will be with other titles which are available on both platforms.
- Launching a game was faster on xCloud, however PS Plus Cloud had less compression overall
- Input latency was not noticeable different to me personal comparing both platforms, it is very noticeable compared to local play
- Overall experience was very acceptable on both platforms
