The Commander is shocked to see Japan leave the X-Com project. Despite a protective satellite overhead, the country has withdrawn its support. This comes on the heels of satellites going up and protecting the whole of North America and Africa and a mission where EXALT were utterly crushed.

Despite the letdown, another landed alien craft has garnered the attention of the X-Com Squad and the new laser sniper rifles and laser scattershots are now in the inventory looking to be used for the first time. Maybe now is the time for X-Com to turn things around?
