XCOM: Enemy Within - Episode 87 (Ashes and Temples, continued...)
7820th of September, 2015:
It was foolish of Bradford to think the aliens had been beaten back after we assaulted their base, but it was utter madness on all our parts, to believe they wouldn't retaliate...
It's chaos, everywhere, half the base was caught completely unawares, I wouldn't want to think of how many people are already dead, even if I had time to. But of those still alive, and able to fight, only half are actually fighting the right people! I don't know what's happened, or rather how, but it's clear that the aliens are behind it.
Thankfully I've managed to meet up with the other heads of staff and some of the soldiers and we've hunkered down in the situation room for now. We have neutralised the immediate threat from our once comrades in arms who were with us at the time (I've done what I can to ensure that they're neutralised, but not killed... but I realise not everyone has the luxury of being in the position to chose how to deal with them) and we're trying to coordinate the defence, but it's bleak. Really bleak.
Delta section seems to be the focus of actual alien attacks, while the majority of fighting around the rest of the base seems to largely be a result of betrayal. Where it's got something to do with mind-control, which s Dr. Vahlen's hypothesis, or something else, we don't know. But it's clear that those few soldiers trapped in Delta section are in very, VERY great peril!
