XCOM: Enemy Within - Episode 86 (Ashes and Temples)

With the rush of activity we've experienced over the last few weeks, having a few days of peace is both desperately appreciated, and a little unnerving. I found myself relaxing in my private quarters with a warm cup of tea and some beautiful music (harder and harder to come by these days, as the majority of our transport infrastructure is used to move military hardware or humanitarian aid where it's needed most) only to realise just how on edge I was.
There is, however, no doubting how useful this undisturbed period of time has been in allowing our researchers and engineers to get their work done. Not only was Dr. Vahlen able to conduct several alien autopsies, but she also oversaw the development of advanced weaponr. Naturally I've already had engineering fabricate, and distributed these to our troops.
Engineering were doubly busy, in fact, as I've authorised several plans for the construction of new base facilities. One of them is... well, as worrying as it is fascinating. I'm told by Dr. Vahlen that the Psionic Lab will allow us to test our troops for any dormant talents. The idea of our own troops able to wield such powers is worrying, to say the least. Why I should feel any more unnerved by the idea of psychic soldiers, than I do with the idea of genetically modified soldiers, I can't understand. But I do.
If we weren't trespassing in the realms of the old Gods before, I'm certain we are now...
