After spending a lot of time trying to figure out DJ's shenanigans, Bradford gave up and told Leslie he is going to beat the info out of the DJ by force. Thankfully, DJ himself came into the room and told everything to the central officer. Especially the part how exactly he managed to get a great signal.
Bradford almost laughed, hearing his insanely ridiculous story, but the team moved on to the another coast.
While arriving there, Bradford had a feeling of deja vu - the exact same situation was experienced by him several years ago with his friends on the dam. He got scared again. He didn't want to part from his new friends and he didn't want to part from his girlfriend as well. Campbell read the signs on his face and assured him that she wasn't going to leave him. That's the power of love, folks. Bradford calmed down and the crew moved on to finish what DJ started.

**AFTER THE MISSION IS COMPLETE**
It was over. The alien relay was destroyed and the mission was complete. Bradford looked at the Campbell under the arctic moonlight. DJ maybe made a dumb decision, but he was sincere and really wanted to be someone in the dark world.
Several weeks later DJ managed to get a transmission from one of resistance groups asking someone to meet with them. DJ, with his charisma, was quite sure that they weren't moles. Bradford moved on to meet the group.
Central officer was never so happy, when the group they found happened to be his old team from "Blast of the Past" days. His fear went out of the window when Darrell Rutherford bro-fisted the officer. They exchanged a lot of stories between them, which eased the pain of being alone for several years.
Despite her promise, Leslie Campbell couldn't remain with John any longer - their quiet nights together got her waiting for a child. Bradford was scared to leave Leslie, but Rutherford assured him that they won't leave her and his new friends alone.
At the same time, DJ intercepted another transmission. When the voice on the other side spoke, Bradford knew that he couldn't stay - it were Raymond and Lily Shen, on the run from ADVENT and the aliens. Darrell gave John his set of radio transmissions so they could stay in check. Giving Leslie the last kiss, Bradford went on to save his old comrade-in-arms from XCOM.
Knowing that Shen is still alive, meeting with his old friends and becoming the father fully restored Bradford's hope for the future. This alone was necessary for Bradford to start thinking about the Commander's return. Jake Levy, the king of the waves, joined the officer on his uneasy journey beyond...
