Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Part 68: Codename: PNEUMA
6Rex, Nia, and everyone else finally reached Gotrock Oracle Ruins on the Cliffs of Morytha.
Pyra was there, but she was unmoving next to Jin. Likewise, Malos, the other Aegis, returned in full health after Nia's cancer attack on him. Turns out that her attack did have a lasting effect on him.
Malos had truly robbed his sister of her data, her memories, and seemingly hers and Mythra's lives.
At this point Rex had to reflect on himself and his relationship with his Aegis. He hadn't fully grasp what both of her forms were going through in their minds. Rather than trying to help them with their paths, he followed his own. He felt foolish and selfish of himself for this...
But now, Rex was ready to make up for this. He was now ready to defeat Malos and Jin, and bring Pyra and Mythra to Aegis no matter what!
With Nia, Dromarch, Tora, Poppi, Mòrag, Brighid, Zeke, and Pandoria on his side, Rex WILL defeat Torna and save his Aegis!

I preferred to attack Malos in this fight, but the theme song is Jin's. Even with both of them together, it didn't feel like I was having a bad time.
I just did a lot of tanking and healing.
Get either Malos or Jin to half of their HP to trigger the 2nd, and MORE IMPORTANT section of this fight.

Rex continued to fight on against Malos, even as Jin shut all of his friends down with his absolute zero Ice powers. Despite this, they all continued to fight, even as things got more and more dire and their strength was running out.
Pyra was not completely dead, but her body was remained an empty husk. Even then, though her shared Core Crystal with Rex, both Pyra & Mythra appeared before them in their subconsciousness... to tell Rex to give up his fight...
They finally admitted why they wanted to go to Elysium this entire time: They became suicidal. They were both so psychologically damaged from how much pain their power brought to Alrest, and to Rex, that they wanted to reach Elysium and find their father, The Architect, to have him take their lives, never to exist, again. Right now, they accepted their current situation towards their deaths, and wanted Rex to abandon them.
But Rex refused. He loved Pyra and Mythra very much. He wanted to feel their pain, but also save their lives. He swore to them that he would bring them to Elysium no matter what. Maybe them, only then, can they all find the answers they sought for, and even find their place in the world, and see what the future holds for them going forward.
"So believe me. I won't let the world burn a second time. So Pyra, Mythra... JOIN MEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Before Jin delivered a devastating blow to Rex, he found himself within Pyra and Mythra's dreamscape once more, but this they were in some kind of facility.
They wanted to show Rex a power that they were given at their birth. A power that not even Malos was able to steal from them.
Rex's words had reached out to them. They realized that they do love their world... all because Rex was in it with them. Rex and all of his other friends.
They all joined hands, a miracle happened.

The third Aegis Sword was not a sword that Addam sealed away. It was deep within his Aegis the entire time, and Rex was finally able to reach it.
And because of that, Pyra and Mythra gained a new combined form that represented how they were no longer lost. Their ultimate form. Their TRUE form of the Emerald Crystal Core Aegis!
Rex even gained a new version of his scuba suit to match. It was now time to fight back.

Now this fight is impossible to lose, but mainly because it has some extra quirks that you won't see anywhere else.
You cannot die in this fight. Also, with this new Aegis, she can not only break any Elemental Orb in a Chain, but she can also use ANY AND ALL BLADE COMBOS.
To activate this being called "Pneuma" in a regular fight, bring Rex's Affinity with Pyra/Mythra to MAX, have all bars of the Party Gauge filled, and then hold R before pressing X.
Pneuma's own face portrait will represent her limit, when it goes completely dark, she changes back to Pyra/Mythra.

With the new form of his Aegis, Rex had become an extremely powerful Driver. He could now even keep up with Jin's speed, which caused him to be cornered.
Knowing that he wasn't going to win this fight, Jin actually beckoned for Rex to kill him, but Rex wasn't there for that. He only fought Jin because he was standing in his way towards Elysium.
But Malos was also on the way to Elysium. Their ultimate goal was to find and kill The Architect, himself. Malos specifically saw himself as the Endbringer that's programmed to destroy all of creation using Elysium's Artifice Aion.
Malos summoned Artifice Ophion to attack, but it was stopped by Artifice Siren. The resulting battle between the Artifices led to the destruction of the ruins.
Rex and his Aegis plummeted deep into the Cloud Sea below...
