Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Part 13: The Unlucky Ambush
After figuring out how to cook with Manana, cook gems with Riku, and Chain Attack with the Ouroboros Soldiers, it was now time to go further through the Eagus Wilderness.
----------
During their travels, Mio wanted to talk about Noah's Blade. She noticed something particularly special about it. He decided to explain himself... via a flashback.
In the past, when he was younger, several Kevesi soldiers-in-training were practicing their Blades. Noah had his, but it wasn't actually activated with either.
He had a run in with Garvel and his squad of bullies. Noah was seemingly ignoring his words, but it was just because he was focused more on his swings. This angered Garvel into attacking him.
Noah was able to dodge all of Garvel's attacks, but when it came to blocking his moves, his inactive Blade was sliced in half, and then Garvel punched Noah down, ready to finish him off had Lanz not stepped in to defend Noah.
This part of the backstory took place before the big trial that Noah's side lost because of Joran. Garvel was ready to show Noah up at that trail, here.
--------
In a sitdown later on, Noah was upset that he couldn't truly call for his Blade's power. It couldn't glow, and now it was broken. He went to the Riku for a new weapon.
Riku presented him with the Lucky Seven, an allegedly magic sword made from seven types of all steel by seven legendary swordsmithpon in seven years.
It was such a powerfully sharp sword that, when Lanz tried to cut the still sword, it ended up cutting HIS, instead. It was even capable of cutting through even the toughest of Ferronis.
Noah considered the Lucky Seven TOO powerful to use, but Riku convinced him to try and use it only when he absolutely needed to, such as needing to protect his friends. Riku saw through Noah that the only reason he couldn't actually call his Blade was because he lacked the fighting spirit to do so.
A final offer from Riku was that Noah can find someway to sheath the Lucky Seven, but then pull it out as a final resort. That way, he won't feel like he has to use it all the time.
Noah's own final offer was to give the Lucky Seven a different name, but both us and Mio don't know what it is, yet...
Mio was only the second person that noticed Noah's special Blade. The first one was of someone that saved him and his close friends' lives...
Unfortunately... that first person was now determined to hunt them all down...
----------
By this point, you can now finally change the time on your own. Sometimes doing this will also spawn different weather, such as rain and fog.
----------
At Nih'l Valley, Ouroboros found footprints. Noah suspected they were from Colony 4, a Kevesi Colony with one of the most well-regarded commanders in all of Keves.
They were now approaching Ouroboros using their massive Ferronis, and their commander, Silvercoat Ethel, herself, was leading the charge to attack them. Even Agnus saw her as a legendary woman for war.
Ethel had saved Noah, Eunie, and Lanz's lives before at Colony 14, but now had called and saw Ouroboros as shadowy "monsters", not even remembering saving their lives.
Noah had failed to convince her, so they were forced to run and retreat into the Gorge of Odie.
It seems that it was really Consul K that was really pulling the strings, here...
----------
At this Gorge, you will not only fine some monsters to fight along the way, but automatically be forced into battle by the Kevesi forces that Ethel unleash at you. You'll know when one of these fights will happen when one of Ouroboros has a subtitled response to them approaching.
----------
Ouroboros continued to run and hide from Ethel's forces, wondering how they could even see them through their hiding spots. It was the work of Ethel's red Iris, granted to her by Consul K.
Ethel was very determined to kill Ouroboros, even if the blasts from her Ferronis ended up hitting some of her soldiers that were also out on the hunt for Ouroboros. They were just in the way.
They were forced into another cave, one full of Black Fog. Somehow, this Black Fog disturbed K's sight of them, a bit.
----------
I continue through this cave, fighting more monsters, soldiers, and even a Unique Monster named Rambler Curalie. That one took a while.
----------
Taion had to wonder about how their enemies were attacking them. They weren't fighting as a unit...
Continuing through the cave, and even finding a Nopon camp along the way, they were eventually able to exit out the other side.
But things for them would soon afterwards get even worse for them...
