Now that everything's all tied up, it's now time to see this journey reach it's conclusion. What you are about to see is exclusive to the Definitive Edition of Xenoblade Chronicles X. Welcome to Act 1 of Chapter 13, Cause and Effect.

And it begins with something black, a sphere, starting to absorb Mira little by little, expanding and devouring. This is forcing Elma and her squad to investigate. Turns out it's happening in multiple areas at once. They head to Oblivia and find that this is no occurrence. But something starts to come out, a strange black monster. It wastes no time, wiping people out of Mira. This being, a Ghost Acolyte, can only be damaged if you can find a vulnerable spot. After taking it out, another one appears. Three of them so the same strategy applies.

Once all three are dealt with, more appear. Just as they're about to get overwhelmed, a Skell comes flying out of the blue. At lightning speed, it is able to not only deal with them but drive them off. Elma and Lin see that as an Ares. They also know the Skell's pilot. Suddenly it departs as a massive threat emerges: a Vita. They return to base and report their findings. It's then we learn the pilot's name: Alois Bernholt. Pilot of the first Ares and the Savior of New LA. As for the Vita, it's real. It's then Elma finally reveals some backstory of her home and how it also suffered the same fate, destroyed by the Ghosts. Turns out the Ares was made by Elma's people, the Samaarians.

So now we head to Noctilum and find the Ares battling against the Vita. After that mess, the crew reunite with Al who has a lot to say and a lot to tell. They return to New LA as Al gets adjusted to being there. We also get some backstory about Al and how he was a brilliant pilot. He would also be the hero that helped humanity. Later on, they get word that things are getting much worse. Some strange force appears above New LA, calling itself Void. Void is here for one simple thing: annihilation. Turns out Elma knows Void. Void was the one who created the Ares Prime & the Ganglion. He was also the one who stole the Vita as well. Void decides to offer a contest with the prize: survival. Turns out Al has a beef with Void. He was the one who stole the Ares Prime's cores.

Now it's a fight to save everyone and it also means leaving Mira behind. For Al, it's personal and he's willing to help. They need to recover the cores. So we got a lot of work to do.

This concludes the first act of Chapter 13. Plus Al gets to join our party. We'll be taking care of his first affinity mission and Act 2 of Chapter 13 in Part 44.
