If this were the Wii U version, this would be the finale to the main game. But it's not. We're not done yet. Far from it. This is Chapter 12: Consequences.
The location of the Lifehold Core has been found. It's in the West coast of Cauldros. Now all BLADEs are on deck to recover it before the Ganglion destroy it. Much of it is just you reaching the core while dealing with baddies. Not much to say on that. Upon reaching it, the Ganglion decides to take action. So, they summon the Vita and it's able to pierce the barrier. As our party head inside the core, they soon learn of a revelation. If you thought Lao's revelation was bad, this takes the cake. I won't go too much detail on this because that would take up a lot of time. But it seems Luxaar isn't going to let us have this moment, so we got to fight.
The fight with Luxaar and his Vita is a two-phase fight. Phase 1 has you fighting against the Vita. Use Skells if you like but just go all in on Overdrive. Phase 2 is not as different as the first. Go into Overdrive, wreck the poor sap. Next you have to deal with Soldier Chimera. You may have to go into Overdrive to do that. Before that, Lao delivers the killing blow to Luxaar and suddenly, he fuses himself with Luxaar and some kind of black goop. It's then Lao reveals to his friends the truth. This time, they have to take Lao down, or rather, a monstrosity of sorts. Lin doesn't like it but this is the only way. The Lifehold can't be destroyed.
If you can go into Overdrive with a proper setup, you'll be fine. But when I did this on the Wii U ten years ago, it was surreal. Like with Luxaar, this is a 2-phase fight, and you have to hit this guy hard and fast. The monster is finally defeated, and Lao reveals that the Ganglion fear the Lifehold. As he dies, he thanks them for doing the right thing. It's also where Elma reveals another truth. Like I said, watch the video. What I will tell you is what happens after Chapter 12.
They did find the Lifehold Core, but it was destroyed upon impact, and everyone wonders how they are still alive. This has everyone concerned. Very concerned. So, they decided to keep the whole truth under wraps, probably to prevent any problems. All they can do is wait and hope for the best.
Since this is the definitive edition, my work is NOT finished. Far from it. See you in Part 40 for we got affinity missions to complete. A lot of them. Believe me.
