for me growing up Alien Trilogy on the playstation didn't actually feel like a very epic experience. Alien Trilogy was like a B-movie in game form, with aspects that made it unintentionally silly, like the facehuggers that don't impregnate the player, or the flamethrower that doesn't light anything on fire, it just causes brutal blood to spray out before Brutal Doom was a thing,
but it was still really fun to play and very satisfying with realistic feeling powerful weapons and plenty of action and interesting visuals. And while it came across as silly junktainment , the game still had a sly grimace if you noticed it's cheesiness, and shot you a side-glance hairy eye in the form of the ultra-creepy dark atmospheric soundtrack which is pretty unique.

I know there is a pretty epic serious realistic and detailed Alien Trilogy mod for Doom with all the modern scripting stuff you can do, so you can place turrets and all the details of the gameplay match up with modern shooters, or recent ones far past AT...

But THIS mod is called "Xenomatrail." that's what it's called. It's a mod about Tarzan in the Aliens universe. Tarzan is somehow immune to the aliens' blood the acid won't burn him. Scientists try to find out why this is by detaining him and taking blood samples, until an army of icky slimey xeno's escapes the laboratory (who'da thunk it could ever happen?) and begin terrorizing the world, earth and hell and other places all over.
So now it's up to Tarzan to follow the trail of the xenomphorphs (hence the title "xenomatrail" I know it's supposed to be stupid), and kill them all to save humanity and stuff...except for those scientists, but the rest of most humans okay we save them if we can

so this mod is going to be kept intentionally very simple, with a few things like reloading here and there, but it's going to be even simpler than the original Alien Trilogy, but where that game kind of loses it's replay value in the clunky survival-horror feel of the movement (you strafe half as fast as you move forward which is not a good design choice but whatevs some might argue otherwise ) & it's not so cereal neither. Think maybe "Shadows of the Damned" meets Alien Trilogy meets george of the jungle, mixing a bit of the creepy AT soundtrack with some out of context trippy techno and dubstep later on, music changing during levels to prevent too much prolonged melacholy
