Yakisoba 焼きそば | Japanese Fried Noodles | Japanese Cooking for Idiots
Yakisoba or Japanese Fried Noodles is so easy, even this idiot can do it. Yes, it's another Japanese Cooking for Idiots. Super quick, tasty and filling.
Ingredients: (Serves 2)
Yakisoba Noodle (can use egg noodle but not the same)
Pointed cabbage cut into squares - 200g
Carrot - 40g
Meat (ideally pork but chicken or beef will do)
beansprouts (40g-80g depending on how much you like)
mushroom (we added as we had some)
vegetable oil - 1 tbsp
Tonkatsu sauce 2 tbs (or Oyster sauce)
Ginger for garnish
Soy Sauce 1 tsp
Method:
Ideally, use Wok with lid, but any big frying pan with lid
1 - heat oil in the pan
2 - add meat
3 - add veg
cook through - then remove from pan and set aside
4 - add 50-100 ml water depending on the amount of noodles
5 - put the lid on and steam until no water left
6 - add back the cooked veg and meat
7 - Add salt, pepper, tonkatsu, soy sauce, ginger
Stir and flip.
Serve
