Y'know...4Kids! - Kirblog 9/6/16
Spinning off my mention of the Kirby: Right Back At Ya! anime series this past weekend, I decided to follow up with a topic suggestion submitted by Jack Dreas, who requested I talk about the good and bad that came from the company formerly known as 4Kids Entertainment. Ah, good ol' 4Kids. Though they were once a "controversial" foundation to the Anime fandom, by industry standards they were actually some of the pioneers behind the popularity of Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and a whole host of other IPs. Though they were notorious for their censored dubs with certain 'liberties' taken on their ADR scripts, were it not for them, Anime may not've taken off nearly to the extent it did with the successful marketing campaigns and distribution to accompany the now-famous franchises. On this week's Kirblog, let's take a trip back to those interesting Saturday mornings, now with perhaps a more mature and objective understanding of the industry...
