Hey folks, welcome back! Today's game is in my opinion one of the best fighting game franchises alongside Guilty Gear, BlazBlue! This edition of the game (Continuum Shift) is the final "Phase II" edition coming after Calamity Trigger and before ChronoPhantasma. Unlike other Japanese fighting games, like Street Fighter and Tekken, where the story is kind of forgettable and a throwaway afterthought, BlazBlue's story, like Guilty Gear is a deep component with every single character having their own storyline and the game even features some silly side-stories as well, just for fun!

The game's fighting mechanics very closely resemble it's older brother with a small difference being the game uses 3 primary attack buttons and one for a character specific "Drive" ability. Also, there's no Dust button here either.

Think of Drive as that extra fourth button to activate each character's personal power, like Injustice: Gods Among Us ... (but BlazBlue came first) so for example, Lichi Faye Ling has a staff she can drop to the ground, throw or retrieve by using the Drive button. Tager can Magnetize his opponent to pull them closer, Hazama can use his chains to pull himself around the screen and Hakumen can perform his parry/guard technique which results in an immediate counterattack. All thanks to the Drive button!

This makes the gameplay deep, and all 19 characters feel extremely unique with their own subset of abilities outside of normals and special moves!

Anyway, check it out! It's great!
