Zek'voz Guide - Normal and Heroic Zek'voz, Herald of N'thoth Uldir Boss Guide
Zek'voz, Herald of N'zoth Normal and Zek'voz Heroic guide! This Zek'voz guide will show you the Zek'voz abilities that you'll see in the Normal, Heroic and LFR versions of the Zek'voz fight. Mythic Zek'voz, Herald of N'zoth has additional mechanics not shown in this Normal and Heroic Zek'voz guide. My raid testing groups on the BfA beta did not see the third phase of the fight, so I've made creative use of stick figures to illustrate the final mechanics.
Zek'voz Tank Guide: Zek'voz will do a combo in the order of Void Lash - Shatter - Void Lash. Each Void Lash (a frontal cone) reduces healing taken by 50%, so if you take both you will be immune to healing and MUST not have the boss until that's faded. Tanks may choose to use pre-emptive cooldowns before the combo and taunt after the second Void Lash, or taunt after the first Void Lash.
Zek'voz, Herald of N'zoth will cast Surging Darkness when he reaches full energy. That spawns a series of Shadow rings (including a full circle in the smallest ring) two at a time in a random sequence. There's plenty of time to move but you must move right away, especially if two adjacent doughnuts spawn. This is one of Zek'voz most devastating abilities.
The Zek'voz fight on normal and heroic features many adds. The silithid adds have random aggro- so bring them to the middle if one attacks you so it can be cleaved down near the boss. The nerubian adds are casters that spam void bolt - stun and interrupt those while killing them one at a time.
The raid should spread during Eye of C'thun, with special attention to make sure Eye Beam targets have enough room.
Roiling Deceit targets should run to the edges or back end of the room to drop their clouds out of the way. Under no circumstances should anybody touch a Roiling Deceit cloud on the Zek'voz fight, lest they spawn a Guardian of Yogg'Saron add.
The Orb of Corruption was not tested by my group so the strategy may be different, but my guess is that it'll need to be intercepted by a player, who then does as much damage as they can before they get Mind Controlled. On Normal, damage players out of MCs and on Heroic, CC them and focus down the boss. That's my guess.
