This is video #03 in my playthrough of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX for the GameBoy Color. This video contains commentary. To view the non-commentary version, click here: https://youtu.be/NkXvGx81-uA

Previously, Link completed Level 1: Tail Cave and got his first Instrument of the Sirens, the Full Moon Cello. This is one of eight instruments needed to awaken the Wind Fish. The next destination is in Goponga Swamp. Unfortunately, when he returned to Mabe Village, he learned that BowWow, Madam MeowMeow's precious Chain Chomp, had been dognapped by Moblins! Link must start by rescuing him.

After passing northeast through the Mysterious Forest, Link arrives at the Koholint Prairie (time 1:49). With the Roc's Feather, he can now easily collect Piece of Heart #03.

Going north and then east, he finds himself at the entrance to the Moblins' lair in Tal Tal Heights (time 2:16). In the first room of the lair, he has to defeat a sword-wielding Moblin. The second room hosts four normal Moblins. Spin Attacks will carry the day.

In the third room, Link will find the grand poobah of these Moblins, the Great Moblin (time 2:59). Avoid his spears. When he charges and hits the wall, he will be stunned. This is the time to attack him. He leaves behind a fairy when defeated.

In the final room, Link will recover the poor kidnapped BowWow (time 4:15). BowWow will prove to be a helpful ally on the overworld.

Outside the cave, Link can head east for a little scene with the owl (time 4:43). The owl reminds Link of his next objective.

Going northwest out of the Mysterious Forest, Link finds himself at the house of Weird Mr. Write (time 5:42). From the nearby phone booth, Link learns that the poisonous flowers in Goponga Swamp are a delicacy to BowWow. Well, how convenient!

In the southeast screen of Goponga Swamp, there is a chest containing 50 Rupees (time 7:27). Happy day!

In the swamp's northeast screen, the flowers block off the entrance to Level 2: Bottle Grotto (time 7:44). After letting BowWow snack, Link heads inside. There is a chest in the first room, but it is currently inaccessible. It won't be for long!

In the second screen of the Bottle Grotto, Link has to light the two torches with the Magic Powder to open the eastern door (time 8:13). In the next room to the east, defeating both Stalfos causes a Small Key to appear.

Link then heads south (time 8:39). The monster within is called a Mask-Mimic. It looks like Mario games' Shy Guys. It mimics Link's moves in reverse. To beat it, Link has to use a Spin Attack to its back. Defeating it reveals a chest containing a useful Compass.

In the previous room, Link continues east (time 9:17). He has to strike the crystal switch to lower the southern barrier. In the room to the south, Link has to defeat the Stalfos Knight. Then, he can hit the switch to lower the barrier so he can collect a Small Key from the chest.

Backtracking to the torch room, he now goes through the locked western door (time 9:44). After beating the Keese, he can continue north. In the next room, he can collect the dungeon's Stone Beak.

After returning to the room with the Stalfos Knight, Link continues east (time 11:01). He will have to use the Roc's Feather to jump through this room. In the middle, there is a pouch of Magic Powder to refill Link's supply. After he steps on the lower-right floor switch, he can collect a Small Key from a chest in the northeast.

Continuing north, he can fight more Mask-Mimics (time 11:23). Beating them causes a Small Key to drop on the west side of the barrier. Link has to go back around to get it.

The next room has Spiked Beetles to kill or avoid (time 12:01). Past the northeast locked door, Link will have to push the two dark blocks towards each other onto the lighter tiles.

Then, he can go down the stairs to another side-view area (time 12:33). Roc's Feather jumps and platforms will help him get past the spikes.

When he gets past the side-view area, he can go through the flipping wall panel to go north (time 12:57). This takes him to the dungeon's Mini-Nightmare, Hinox. Hinox is a huge cyclops with a love of bombs. Pull out the sword as if for Spin Attacks and stab him. When he throws bombs, avoid them. That's all there is to it. Hinox leaves behind a fairy and a two-way teleporter to the start of the dungeon.

In the room to the east, the stairway will become a viable shortcut when Link has the dungeon's treasure (time 13:19). The owl statue in this room has a valuable hint for getting the Nightmare's Key: defeat the imprisoned Pols Voice first and the Stalfos last.

Link continues north (time 13:43). Watch out for the magnet in the southwest. After the Keese are gone, Link can find the Map.

Description continued in the comments.
