Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon turn 30 years old on October 10th, 2023. Yet, despite their popularity and age, there hasn't been a definitive compilation of their cutscenes. They're either missing the tutorial, have palette/stretching issues, or are using outdated rips.

So, I went ahead and crafted two new compilations using the highest quality sources possible. Partially for entertainment purposes, partially for preservation, and partially so I have video footage for potential CD-i Zelda analysis videos. Below, you'll find timestamps and a list of what's different.

This compilation of Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon's cutscenes features the following upgrades:

- A higher quality! This compilation features 1440p cutscenes for the first time (chosen as it's divisible by the 240-pixel CD-i vertical resolution) and keeps its aspect ratio at 16:10, allowing it to have highly accurate visuals! I've also given it 60 FPS to stabilize the cutscenes' glorious 10 FPS framerate.
- Accurate graphics! These cutscenes have been rebuilt in Vegas using brand-new rips of the original games' graphics. Notably, this includes the full 240 vertical pixels - previous rips left the bottom row out - and has several missing frames the old rips didn't catch. It can't get much better than this!
- Some missing cutscenes! Cutscene compilations always leave out the tutorial and Zelda's animation + lines during it, so I've put the entire thing at the end of the video. In addition, the "short" cutscenes that play after obtaining an item and completing a quest are here, though there's nothing new in them.
- An accurate order! The cutscenes are now in an order similar to what a player experiences in-game. They may be a bit disjointed compared to what you're used to, but that's exactly how it is.
- Timestamps and captions! You can now skip to your favorite cutscene with a single click, and be able to tell what your favorite characters are actually saying!
