Previously, Link went north to Faron Woods and freed Talo and the monkey from Bokoblin captivity near the entrance to the Forest Temple. Now, it is the day of Link's departure, but first Fado wants him to help put the livestock to bed.

After loading up, Link uses the grass to call Epona over to him (time 0:46). As soon as he mounts up, the goat herding minigame starts again. Link is now timed. Fado will chew Link out if he takes over three minutes, but there is no reward yet for completing this in under a certain time.

After completing this quest, Link jumps the gate and returns to Ordon Village (time 3:03). As he returns, he meets up with Ilia and Mayor Bo. As the mayor explains to Link the delicacies of his assignment, Ilia notices that Epona has been injured. And she goes through the roof. Oh, dear... Bo's reaction doesn't help matters, either. Ilia will lead Epona off to the spring to help soothe her wounds.

Link talks to Mayor Bo after the scene (time 5:33). Link needs Epona's help to deliver the gift, of course. They are interrupted as another goat gets away from Fado. Afterwards, Link needs to find a way to convince Ilia to give Epona back. On the way out, Link can have a chat with the residents of Ordon.

He then heads north to the vicinity of his house (time 11:30). As he steps forward, Colin talks to him. Talo and Malo are blocking the way to the spring, and Colin wants his help to get past them. Sounds good.

But first, Link heads into his house (time 12:41). Down in his darkened basement, he can use his new Lantern to find a chest that contains a Purple Rupee, worth 50 Rupees! Yay! He cannot find it without the Lantern.

Afterwards, Link and Colin approach Talo and Malo (time 13:59). They're upset with Colin because he did the right thing and told his dad what they had done. Before they let Link pass, Link will have to let them borrow the Wooden Sword. Probably not the best idea, but Link has to hand it over. When he does, Talo and Malo go off to play with it. Then, after thanking Link, Colin runs off to the spring.

If Link talks to the kids afterwards, Talo's tale of the previous day's events will get taller and taller.

Link follows Colin north to the spring area (time 17:03). However, Ilia has shut and locked the gate to the spring itself (time 17:22). Ilia is still upset. Colin offers to explain the situation to Ilia while Link sneaks in through a tunnel.

The tunnel entrance is south of the spring (time 18:33). After entering with the A button, Link just has to crawl through.

A scene takes place as he reaches the spring (time 18:52). Now that she has heard about Talo's capture, Ilia is much more understanding. Unfortunately, the lovely scene is interrupted as monsters ride in on hog steeds! After they ride off, Link runs in pursuit. He finds a barrier to his pursuit, but when he gets pulled through, a strange transformation comes over him! Where is he being taken? And who is watching him? We will find out next time!
