https://www.patreon.com/ulillillia --- Once you get to level 8, the best leveling ground becomes available, effectively right from first entering. With the Feruza shoes and enchantment sword (which are otherwise quick to get to), setting up and going at the routine is much faster. And who'd have thought that this one spot could be so effective! I think you really only need around that of about 24,000 almas (assuming you only get the 100s) to get a full level up's worth so effectively, this routine would be a good 50% faster. With a faster setup (you'll see my development for getting this set up improve), I could claim a level up every roughly 10 minutes doing this!

For best results, I must get rid of the unwanted enemies that will cause more trouble than help. The squids (as I called them as a child, though they look more like jellyfish) are the strongest normal enemy in the game, with 100 HP and they deal 80 HP damage (when you max out at 400 HP) definitely must be eliminated. There are 2 of these. To block an enemy from causing problems and respawning, make sure it drops an alma and do not get it or enter any doorway. The blue floating gelroid blobs (64 HP and deal 40 damage) are another major hazard. While usable at speed 8, they're too dangerous at speed 9. There's really only one that needs to be dealt with though. There is one other enemy that must be dealt with that will cause problems at speed 8... and it only drops 10s for almas at the best - the worm (48 HP and deals 30 damage). There are a total of 3 of these, but only 1 must be dealt with, the odd one on the ledge. This is best destroyed while it's still on the ledge.

Once these are out of the way, all that's left are the slime guns (64 HP and deal 40 damage for the body, 1 for the green projectiles and 40 for the red projectiles) and 2 stray worms in a pit that you won't need. I usually test things out at speed 8. At speed 9, I generally only bother with the 2 slime guns at the top of the rope where that annoying platform is if I happen to right away stop underneath it. Regardless, notice the incredible rate at which I'm getting almas. It's so much faster than level 1's bats, even if they dropped 100s. It's less consistent, but it's crazy fast! I try to focus on facing left in this as much as possible, especially when falling. This is because the slime guns will shoot the very dangerous red slime balls only when you're to the right of them so by facing left, the shield will block those. The green slime balls do just 1 damage so they're not at all a concern. Still, the enemy density in this area is really something! For further/faster exp, get those worms in the pit as well, but I don't recommend it and you lose a way to keep track of how many enemies you've destroyed.

I start the video with a level up being obtained. I then gain 2 more overfull level ups right after that, getting a good 700K gold. The max level? 255. I have no clue what level I'm at any more, but it's probably close to around 30 at the end of the video.

By the way, I love the music of level 8. I called it "sluminda" (pronounced "SLOO mihn dah") as a child.
