In this video we'll be going through all of the latest information on AMD's upcoming Zen 3 processors, which will be launching in 2020. Zen 3 will be the last architecture which will be backwards compatible on current sockets such as AM4.
Zen 3 is said to have an impressive IPC gain compared to zen 2, with my sources indicating IPC gains could be up to 15 - 17 percent on average. Core counts for Ryzen 4000 though will likely remain static and identical to the ryzen 3000 series.
Clock speeds thanks to 7nm+ could potentially raise up a few hundred MHz, though Ryzen will likely benefit less than the next generation Epyc processors (Milan).
Zen 3 will also sport impressive enhancements to the architecture, not least of which is increased L1 cache bandwidth, improvements to L3 cache, and tweaks to the FP (floating point) units.
