Xbox Series X GPU Specs - 64 CU ? | AMD FEM Physics Could Radically Change Games
802Microsoft's next generation xbox (AKA xbox series X) is rumored to sport 64 compute units (4096 shaders) with a clock frequency of 1475MHz, which would be substantially lower in speed than the Playstation 5, but make up for it with the number of CU. But this would mean that the APU would be pretty large. Microsoft are rumored to reveal a lot more details of the xbox series x by mid next year.
Meanwhile, AMD has revealed FEM physics, FemFX. This will be designed to leverage the CPU to better simulate physics, such as melting objects, bending metal and glass and so on. FemFX will likely be leveraged in the next generation consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X, but also could be very important for PC gaming.
Finally, a small exclusive - I was told by a source who emailed me that he believes AAA studios are receiving next generation geforce cards (Ampere).
