10 Short VYou Clips: Dr. Sadler on Philosophy
This video is a composite of 10 short (2 minute or under) clips which I recorded as a user of the now defunct VYou -- an innovative social network which allowed users to record short video responses to questions and comments. All of these particular clips have to do with the subject of Philosophy in general, and with a few specific thinkers (e.g. Aristotle, Anselm, Boethius) in particular. All of them are responses recorded in various places and at different times, where I address another VYouser's questions or comments.
The video quality is not particularly good on some of these clips -- they were recorded using older webcam technology.
2:24 Question 1: How does knowing and studying philosophy enhance a person's way of life?
4:26 Question 2: Who is your favorite philosopher?
6:00 Question 3: If you could interview any philosopher, who would it be?
7:50 Question 4: If you could have a chat with any philosopher, dead or alive, who would it be?
9:44 Question 5: If you could talk with Anselm, would you want to do it in his time, or bring him to the 21st Century and show him around?
11:53 Question 6: H.H. Price said that all great philosophical discoveries are discoveries of the obvious. Do you think this is the case?
14:00 Question 7: I read or heard that you're supposed to be an Aristotelian. Aristotle was for slavery. What about you?
16:13 Question 8: Can the Aristotelian notion of a final cause still be relevant today? Or has science made it obsolete?
18:19 Question 9: What do you think about Boethius and Abelard? I'm taking Medieval Philosophy right now -- it's interesting, but very confusing!
20:31 Question 10: As the pursuit of wisdom, Philosophy raises questions about almost everything. Does it also question what it means to question in the first place?

I'm now soliciting new questions and comments from viewers and subscribers, to which I'll be responding in some new, higher-quality, 2 minute shorts (organized into groups of 10) -- you can leave those questions and comments on this invitation video: http://youtu.be/98rTac5WJHs
