In 2005, most consoles (apart from the Xbox 360) weren't capable of matching PC graphics, so a different version of the excellent Call of Duty 2 was released for these consoles, namely Big Red One. This game suffered of the comparison with the PC game that had just been released a month earlier. In retrospect, without this bias, its clearly an epic WW2 shooter in its own right !

Contrary to Medal of Honor, Call of Duty games feature shooting sections from various vehicles. I really enjoyed the part shooting at enemy fighters from a B-24 bomber , as well as the mission using a Panzer ! Big Red One offers varied settings, with the theaters of war including North Africa, Sicily, the Omaha beach landing, Belgium and crossing into Germany !

For me, this is the best WW2 FPS game on the Gamecube, as I personally prefer it to Medal of Honor : Frontline. Its fun from start to finish, and is an easy recommend for fans of war games !
