1853: Gate of Doom / Dark Seal \\ Bard playthrough! Steam ROM in MAME! 1990, before Dungeon Magic!
4Playing through Gate of Doom (aka "Dark Seal" in Japan) as the Bard, using the "gatedoom.zip" ROM placed in an install directory of the Steam game "Retro Classix: Gate of Doom," running in MAME 0.119 (2007--the last 32-bit MAME, accepts just about any ROM) from the Windows 11 command line!

Hit/hurt boxes on tall monsters in this isometric scheme are very confusing. : P And you're pretty much non-stop attacked by faster things just barging into you from all directions. : PPP And there's very little feel or feedback to your actions! And you can't use your (random :p) magic against the bosses! And the big dragon near the end just didn't have animation frames to turn around, so if you go behind them they just hit you with magic attack that teleports right onto you! ; D Some of the graphics and music are all right, didn't play great though. (Might have been easier as Knight?)
