1875: Xenophobe PS2 \\ All 9 characters! PCSX2 multi-tap emulation (Midway Arcade Treasures 2)
Fumbling around as three players and all nine characters in Xenophobe from Midway Arcade Treasures 2 for PS2, using the multitap option in the emulator PCSX2 in Windows!

Pretty sure I mispronounced some of the character names, missing some of the bad puns behind the names (like "DR. ZORDIRZ"). 'p' I word-saladed my way through lots of stuff at the beginning, like leaving off the "2" on the name of the game compilation, and not even mentioning, initially, that it was a PS2 game--among other stumbles. ; )
Xenophobe has nine playable characters, all of whom appear to play identically. It is a three player game, with each player having sole access to three of the characters; player one cannot use the three characters available to player two, nor the three characters available to player three, and vice-versa etc. So to access all nine characters, you have to use all three players. Since the PS2 has only two joystick ports, entering as player three requires a multitap: a device with multiple controller ports, that plugs into one of the two controller ports on the PS2. I got rid of my PS2's multitap years ago, since I never had any need for it--until I wanted to see all nine characters in Xenophobe! Fortunately, you can simulate a multitap in the PS2 emulator PCSX2 simply by checking a box.
PSCX2's multitap emulation is activated with the "Multitap on Console Port" checkboxes under Settings - Controllers - Global Settings. I thought I'd be able to swap one controller--my DualSense--among simulated Controller Ports 1A-1C, but that didn't seem to work: I would switch its mapping to a different port, and remove it from the previous one, but the controller's inputs would keep controlling the same character! So I had to set up ports 1A-1C each on a separate physical controller: 1A = DualSense, 1B = Hori Real Arcade Pro V 2017 arcade stick, 1C = keyboard. 'p'
Prior to recording, I ran into some kind of video compat issue with Midway Arcade Treasures 2 in PCSX2: if I backed out of a game, it would play the compilation's video trailer; I would skip that by pressing Start or something, and then...sometimes it would then play another, "demo," trailer, sometimes repeatedly, but eventually I would end up on a black screen, where I could hear up/down on the controller moving between games in the main menu, and pressing X would start one of them, blindly. That was when I was messing around with PCSX2 displaying in a window, not full-screen, and using the Automatic renderer setting, I think Vulkan. I switched to full screen and using the Software renderer, and didn't run into the black screen problem again. It was probably full screen rather than the renderer change that did it. Let me see... Oh! No, it is a problem with the Automatic renderer setting, and switching to Software renderer fixes it. Well cool, now I get to report it as a bug on the PCSX2 GitHub: https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/issues/11126
And I have three more Midway compilations supposedly arriving at my door this week. ^ _^ = oo
