It's actually 1994, and your friends' dad just got a Laserdisc and a bunch of movies on the cheap! You look through the box and find a 4 disk mini-series called Dark Souls II produced by Channel 4 in 1989. you remember hearing about it, but you never actually caught it on TV. Your friend agrees that it looks interesting, and decides to throw it on. The moment it starts, you are instantly introduced to a world that brings you into its thick eerie atmosphere and overall dark tone. It LOOKS like Dungeons & Dragons-style fantasy at first glance, but the longer you watch, the more it twists into a world where heroes can lose, and sanity can be lost over eons of not dying. Your mind is BLOWN, and you are never the same again.

This is dedicated to all the people who marveled at having that high-end old-school TV they spent weeks 2nd hand searching for on the cheap, along with either a Laserdisc player or the almighty VCR. And if you don't have nostalgia for that, (you are maybe 35 or under), then consider this like playing a little bit of history, as well as, yes, it is kinda like all those horror games you play now.

considering this as a laserdisc copy was the best in-between for getting the nostalgic imperfections while not getting as fuzzy and wild as a VCR might look. ...and i am happy with how accurate it looks for a common case of the average person handling a laserdisc player in that time period 1989, and what they may have watched it on a few years later in the 1990s

FAR more than just a few VCR filters. Serious work on the shadows being deeper, lens adaption, and emulating lens burn has been put into this.

Hope some people get what I am going for, and thank you for checking it out at all!
